Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum requirements are a Bachelor's degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or Business and the successful completion of one or more internship assignments, each lasting 3 or more months
- Minimum requirements in lieu of a Bachelor's degree are 4 or more years of experience with construction technologies (Revit, BIM, AutoCad, etc.) and a GED or high school diploma
- Preferred requirements Bachelor's degree and 2 or more years of commercial construction experience in project coordination efforts involving 3d modeled content
- Ability to perform work accurately and completely in a timely manner
- Good communication skills; verbal and written.
- Effective meeting/presentation skills.
- Knowledge of Lean processes.
- Effective problem solving and conveyance of solutions.
- Ability to read and understand plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Knowledge of general BIM technologies and the overall application of said technologies.
- Knowledge of BIM technology solutions at an intermediate level including:
- Autodesk Revit (intermediate)
- Autodesk Navisworks Manage (intermediate)
- Autodesk BIM 360 (intermediate)
- Trimble Sketchup (beginner)
- Bluebeam (intermediate)
- Laser Scanning processes (beginner)
- Synchro (beginner)
- Manage Spatial Coordination process, including leading cross-functional meetings, effectively communicating updates with subcontractors and all impacted parties, and resolving issues with the design team
- Manage project managers, architects, engineers, and other key stakeholders to facilitate the smooth exchange of information and ensure all models are aligned with project goals and requirements.
- Develop, manage, and maintain 3D models using Autodesk Revit. Ensure accuracy and completeness of project models, including architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
- Use Autodesk Navisworks Manage to conduct clash detection and resolve conflicts between different disciplines in the project. Lead coordination meetings to address and resolve clashes.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders via Autodesk BIM 360 to share and update model information, ensuring all project participants have access to the most up-to-date models and documentation.
- Use Trimble Sketchup for basic design visualization and conceptual modeling to assist in communicating design intent and options to clients and project teams.
- Review and mark up drawings and models using Bluebeam to ensure compliance with project requirements and design standards.
- Assist in the integration of laser scanning processes with project models to ensure accurate as-built conditions and verification of existing conditions.
Secondary Duties
- Support project teams in the creation of 4D simulations using Synchro to visualize construction sequences and timelines, ensuring projects remain on schedule.
Physical Requirements
- Must be physically fit enough to function safely on a project site and office setting. This includes the following:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer with repetitive movements.
- Must be able to use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization's physical premises.
- Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculators, and copiers.
- Hearing, vision, and speaking within normal ranges are essential for normal conversations, receive ordinary information, and prepare or inspect documents.
- Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and other co-workers.
- Current driver's license, required.
- Work on-site at a main office or project location, required
- May be called after hours and on weekends to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues impacting deliverables and/or job sites
- May require travel
