Leads and/or participates in the design, administration, implementation, communication, and governance of assigned benefit plans. This role is primarily focused on retirement benefits, however, will be cross functionally trained in health and welfare benefits to ensure consistent plan administration and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
What You Will Do at Graco
- Primarily responsible for the administration and vendor relationships of U.S. retirement plans; 401(k), Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), Deferred Compensation, Restoration, Non-Qualified, and Pension benefits.
- Manage all aspects of the 401(k) plan including annual non-discrimination testing, match true-up reconciliation, and auto-increase enrollment.
- Responsible for overseeing efficient and effective administration of the company's global ESPP for 4,000 employees. This includes but is not limited to writing and distributing communications and ensuring proper system set-up.
- Facilitate the monthly reconciliation and annual open enrollment process of the Deferred Compensation Plan.
- Coordinate the annual pension funding communication and various pension projects as assigned.
- Manage all aspects of the 401(k) plan including annual non-discrimination testing, match true-up reconciliation, and auto-increase enrollment.
- Participate in the Benefits Finance Committee and Benefits Plans Committee.
- Benchmark retirement benefits (e.g., 401(k) match, basic contribution and ESPP in new countries) to enhance our total rewards strategy.
- Oversee the U.S. retiree medical program including partnering with vendors on annual plan design, rate renewals, and accuracy of data.
- Primary subject matter expert on benefits Workday module. Manage the relationship with HRIS and Payroll as it relates to Workday. Including reviewing, testing, monitoring interfaces with benefits vendors, and maintaining accurate employee data.
- Responsible for the acquisition process as it relates to benefits. This includes cost analysis and modeling, termination of existing benefit plans, onboarding, communications, Workday set-up, 401(k), and onsite assistance.
- Ensures all employee benefit plans, programs and practices remain legally compliant by coordinating various retirement audits and annual valuations within the pension plan. Collaborates with external legal counsel on Plan Documents, SPDs and Form 5500s (401(k)) and SARs distribution.
- Proactively develop and distribute benefit communication and education materials to enhance employee understanding.
- Provide mentorship, work direction, and training to less experienced Total Rewards team members.
- Handle complex escalated benefits inquiries for employee questions for HR phone line and email to ensure quick and accurate resolution.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in business, human resources or related field.
- 5+ years benefits analysis / administration experience.
- Previous experience with HRIS / Payroll systems (Workday preferred).
- Broad understanding of employee benefit practices (ERISA, health and welfare and retirement benefit plans, processes, and administration, including financial analysis).
- Exceptional communication and organization skills with a commitment to accuracy and detail.
- Excellent customer service orientation, adaptable to change, team player, self-directed, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion and exercise sound judgment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft products.
- International benefits administration and communication experience.
- Merger, acquisition, and divestiture experience.
- CEBS/CBP, PHR, or SHRM-CP credentials.

The base pay range for this position is listed below, exclusive of fringe benefits or other compensation. If you are hired, your final base hourly rate will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, competencies, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we will also consider internal equity of our current employees. Please keep in mind that the range provided is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at or near the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.
