Certifications: - BLS required - Current certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) or completion of specific AWHONN courses (Intermediate FHM, Intermediate FHM Instructor, Advanced FHM Instructor, or Instructor Trainer). If previously uncertified, certification required within 30 days of hire for experienced nurses, or within 4 months for new graduates or experienced nurses new to the specialty. - Current ACLS certification within 30 days of hire for experienced nurses, within 90 days for new graduates. - Current NRP certification at the time of hire for experienced nurses, within 60 days for new graduates or experienced nurses new to the specialty.
Must-Have: - Competence in providing nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. - Ability to address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. - Proficiency in documenting patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided. - Skills in educating patients, family members, and caregivers.
Job Description: - Provide routine and complex care, maintaining an awareness of relevant aspects of clinical situations. - Develop the ability to manage nursing contingencies and make appropriate assignments, delegating tasks to manage clinical situations effectively. - Meet expectations of applicable competencies, consistent with the nursing practice standards. - Incorporate patient safety practices to promote a positive environment and favorable patient outcomes. - Demonstrate accountability for nursing research and quality improvement activities. - Communicate patient information effectively across the continuum of care. - Educate and train others according to industry operations, ethics, and regulations. - Follow clinical standards and procedures; ensure compliance and provide feedback for procedural improvement. - Maintain and manage electronic and paper patient documentation, ensuring accuracy and updating records. - Ensure proper use and maintenance of medical equipment; inspect and evaluate equipment to ensure patient safety. - Process medical orders, ensuring accuracy and validation. - Read and interpret patient charts, identifying mistakes or omissions. - Ensure safety for various patient groups, recognizing physiological and psychological signs of problems. - Participate in the documentation and analysis of safety incidents.
