KCRW is seeking an experienced and highly motivated

Director of

Institutional Giving

to lead and expand its portfolio of foundation, corporate, and government funders. This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of institutional fundraising, including identifying prospective funders, writing proposals, stewarding relationships, and ensuring timely reporting on grant outcomes. The Institutional Giving Director will play a key role in stewarding funder relationships and securing funding to support KCRW's public radio programming, digital initiatives, and community outreach efforts. The position requires a strategic thinker with strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with institutional partners.

Here's What You'll Do

Institutional Fundraising Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive institutional giving strategy to increase support from foundations, corporations, and government agencies. Identify new funding opportunities that align with KCRW's programming and strategic goals. Relationship Management: Cultivate and steward relationships with institutional funders through regular communication, meetings, and reports. Act as the main point of contact for current and prospective institutional donors, ensuring timely and professional follow-up. Proposal and Grant Writing: Prepare compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and sponsorship requests that effectively communicate KCRW's mission, impact, and funding needs. Customize messaging to each funder's priorities and requirements. Grant Reporting and Compliance: Oversee the preparation and submission of grant reports, ensuring that all funder requirements are met. Monitor grant and sponsorship agreements to ensure compliance with deadlines and deliverables. Research and Prospecting: Research potential new funding sources, including foundations, corporations, and government grant opportunities. Maintain an updated prospect pipeline and track progress in a donor management system. Collaboration and Cross-Departmental Coordination: Work closely with KCRW's programming, marketing, and finance teams to develop strong proposals, ensure grant deliverables are met, and accurately track program outcomes for reporting purposes. Budgeting and Financial Tracking: Collaborate with the finance team to develop grant budgets, monitor grant expenditures, and ensure that funds are allocated according to grantor guidelines. Here's What You'll Bring:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (nonprofit management, communications, business, etc.) or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in institutional fundraising, with a successful track record of securing grants and sponsorships. Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, persuasive proposals. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively. Experience using donor databases or CRM systems to track funding prospects and donor relationships. Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising trends, particularly in public media or arts and culture sectors, is a plus. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Passion for public radio, community engagement, and KCRW's mission. What We Offer
