PRN/per diem, variable shifts; some weekend and holidays required

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Stephenville is a full-service, 98-bed hospital serving Erath and surrounding counties since 1926.

The hospital offers surgical services, women’s and infants’ services, advanced diagnostic imaging and a wound care program.

Level IV trauma center, Cycle III Chest Pain Center by Society of Chest Pain Centers and Breast Imaging Center of Excellence

Here’s what you need

Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred

Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire

BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly

ACLS – within 90 days of hire

PALS - within 90 Days of hire

CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 60 days of hire

NRP - within 90 Days of hire

ENPC - within 12 months of hire

TNCC - within 12 months of hire

5-year experience as a clinical nurse with previous experience as a charge nurse or similar leadership role (i.e. Charge nurse, committee chair, preceptor)

Three (3) years of emergency and/or critical care nursing experience preferred

Practices within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act

Proactive problem-solving skills and excellent prioritization skills

Good interpersonal, verbal, written and computer skills

What You Will Do

Represents facility administration after business hours and on weekends

Rounds throughout the facility on a frequent (at least 2 times/12 hours shift) and consistent basis

Serves as a resource for problem solving, decision-making, and policy interpretation, consistently making judgments based on reliable critical thinking and that are evidence-based

Utilizes bed tracking systems and other methods to meet timely assignment of beds and minimal delays, where applicable

Supports units with staffing variances and coverage based on unit/acuity staffing plan

Assists in the identification of ineffective and costly processes and takes action to improve those processes

Models the use of High Reliability Organization (HRO) tools in everyday practice and situations and encourages staff to do the same
