This new role will be to provide management direction for a large project and/or a group of projects. Develop new business opportunities relative to a particular Client, group of Clients, type of Work, or geographical area. Maintain positive relationships with both current and former clients. Foster a culture of continuous improvement among field personnel at every level. This is a senior management position with responsibilities for the profit or loss of the company.
As a member of the Operations team, you will work with the Executive Leadership Team.
Responsibilities of a Vice President for Data Centers & Industrial: Maintain existing client relationships, create new client connections, and foster all relationships. Meet with clients throughout multiple phases of multiple projects - proposals, kick-offs, updates, closing, new business. Assisting in the hiring process for team members under Data Center/Industrial vertical. Direct and monitor project staff and subcontractors to perform and complete work on schedule and in compliance with contract documents, project schedule and budget. Train current and new employees on the unique challenges for Data center market. Establish project objectives, review/establish schedules, review and adapt work sequence with Project Manager, Superintendent, project staff and subcontractors including but not limited to traveling to the jobsite to track and check in on project status. Establish internal processes for efficiency during scheduling, budgeting, etc for Data Centers/Industrial verticals. Oversee all field operations for pursuit and active Data Center/Industrial Projects. Collaborate with fellow executive team to develop the company's strategic plan. Support business development efforts through bringing new ideas and methods to the table, finding new and participating in existing networking and client focused events. Address and resolve any and all client issues related to project needs as they arise. Participate in project estimates and contract negotiation with clients. Represent McHugh in project meetings, meetings with government authorities having jurisdiction over the project, and other meetings necessary for project completion. Collaborate effectively with other internal departments and employees including estimating, safety, accounting, legal, human resources, and marketing.
Qualifications of a Vice President for Data Centers & Industrial: B.S. degree in construction management or equivalent experience. Minimum of 15 years' experience in construction. Additionally, 5 plus years in senior leadership role preferred. Commercial and/or data center construction experience required. Strong connections with clients in the data center/industrial market. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including tact, diplomacy, and negotiation ability preferred. Management experience of teams a must. Working knowledge of the trades, construction technology, etc. Strategic thinker. Willingness to travel includes but is not limited to visiting jobsites, meeting potential joint venture partners, clients, etc. Long term and out of state travel is not required.
