About the role:

We are seeking a skilled SoC (System-on-Chip) Debug Architect to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting product-specific SoC debug features across a portfolio of data center SoCs and AI accelerators, ensuring the efficient and effective resolution of complex issues throughout the development lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with security architects to ensure Ampere platforms meet debug and security requirements for internal validation & debug and across customer development and production lifecycles. You will lead cross-functional teams to develop the micro-architecture for your solutions, support debug tool development, and identify, prioritize, and resolve silicon issues, playing a pivotal role in delivering high-quality products. This opportunity is available in the following US locations: Portland, OR; Santa Clara, CA; Raleigh, NC What you'll achieve:

Develop and maintain the SOC debug strategy, roadmap, and specifications, collaborating with hardware, software, and post-silicon validation teams to develop requirements and to ensure flawless implementation of debug capabilities. Design and implement innovative and efficient debug architectures and tooling for complex data-center focused SoCs, covering functionality, performance & power metrics, and test coverage. Hands-on post-silicon HW analysis and debug to evaluate the effectiveness of existing debug features and develop requirements for future roadmap. Support post-silicon validation team and customer-facing PAEs as necessary to help debug internal and customer issues. Support debug tools team in development and usage of internal and external debug tools on Ampere SoCs. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline debug processes and shorten time to resolve issues. Keep abreast of industry trends and ensure debug capabilities are keeping pace with future architectures, features, and constructions. Interact directly with customers to understand their needs and challenges. About you:

BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science and 12 years of experience; or MS degree and 8 years of experience; or PhD degree and 5 years of experience in SoC architecture/design with 5+ years in SOC debug architecture design, implementation, and deploying debug techniques for digital and mixed-signal functionality in a post-Si production environment. Expertise with Design for Debug (DFD) techniques for data center SoCs, such as observability points, trace buffers, error detection mechanisms, and diagnostic scan dump methodologies and implementation. Proficiency with ARM-specific debug solutions such as CoreSight, Debug Access Ports (DAPs), Embedded Trace Macrocells (ETMs), System Trace Macrocells (STMs), and standards such as ARM Debug Interface Architecture Specification (ADIv5). Proficiency of secure debug topics for ARM TrustZone, Confidential Compute Architecture (CCA), and other security solutions. What we'll offer:

The full base pay range for this role is between $163,100 and $271,900, except in the San Francisco Bay Area where the range is between $171,800 and $286,300.
