Job Summary
The Cloud Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data warehouse and business intelligence solutions using cloud-based technologies. This role requires expertise in data modeling, cloud services, SQL development, and ETL tools to support efficient data processing and analytics. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality data solutions that align with business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain data warehouse solutions using AWS cloud technologies.
• Build and analyze complex SQL queries on RDBMS platforms such as Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
• Utilize ETL tools like Informatica for data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
• Develop and maintain entity-relationship diagrams (ERDs) for data modeling.
• Implement best practices for AWS services, including S3, DMS, Glue, Lambda, and Redshift.
• Write and debug code using AWS CLI, SDKs, and serverless frameworks.
• Ensure secure coding practices by leveraging IAM roles and AWS security guidelines.
• Use CI/CD pipelines with tools like GitLab, Terraform, and DBMaestro for deployment.
• Create and support analytical dashboards using AWS Quicksight, Tableau, or similar visualization tools.
• Author user and system documentation with excellent attention to detail.
• Collaborate in Agile team settings and contribute to application lifecycle management.
• Utilize Python scripts for automation and data processing tasks.
• Apply knowledge of containers and cloud-native application development to enhance processes.
Required Qualifications
• 5-9+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, or software engineering.
• Expertise in SQL, data modeling, and RDBMS technologies.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services for data warehousing and analytics.
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools like Informatica.
• Proficiency in Python programming and serverless application development.
• Familiarity with tools like Alteryx, Collibra, Immuta, and Okta is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or AWS Quicksight.
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools.
• Knowledge of application lifecycle management and containerization.
Certifications
• Relevant certifications in AWS cloud technologies, data engineering, or related fields are advantageous.
