QA Analyst (APEX Applications)

Job Summary: The QA Analyst (APEX Applications) is responsible for testing and validating the functionality and performance of Oracle APEX applications and associated reporting features. This role ensures that DTA's APEX applications adhere to the highest standards of quality, data accuracy, and security, meeting business requirements and enhancing end-user experience. This position requires experience in quality assurance for Oracle-based applications, a strong understanding of data-driven workflows, and familiarity with reporting tools.
Key Responsibilities: 1.Test Planning and Execution oDevelop comprehensive test plans and cases for Oracle APEX applications, covering functional, performance, and security aspects. oExecute manual and automated testing to ensure applications meet functional requirements and align with DTA's data strategy. oConduct testing on reporting features to verify data accuracy, usability, and performance within APEX applications.
2.Defect Tracking and Resolution oDocument and track defects, collaborating closely with developers to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues promptly. oConduct root-cause analysis for recurring issues and work with the development team to implement corrective actions. oRe-test and validate defect resolutions to ensure quality standards are met.
3.Compliance and Data Quality Assurance oEnsure APEX applications comply with data quality standards, data protection regulations, and security protocols. oRegularly validate data flows and reporting outputs to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance across the system. oMaintain test environments and data sets in accordance with data privacy and security policies.
4.Documentation and Reporting oCreate and maintain detailed test documentation, including test scripts, test cases, and defect reports. oProvide regular testing status updates, test results, and quality reports to stakeholders. oDevelop system documentation and user manuals, ensuring they are up-to-date with the latest testing procedures and application changes.
5.Process Improvement and Best Practices oContinuously identify areas for improvement in QA processes and recommend best practices for application and report testing. oStay updated on new QA methodologies, tools, and Oracle APEX advancements to improve testing effectiveness and efficiency. oCollaborate with the QA and development teams to implement automated testing frameworks where applicable.
6.End-User Support and Training oSupport end-users by troubleshooting issues, gathering feedback, and ensuring that applications meet user expectations. oProvide training and guidance to users on testing practices and application functionalities to facilitate efficient adoption.
Qualifications: • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Experience: o3+ years of experience in quality assurance, with a focus on Oracle APEX applications or related reporting solutions. oStrong background in functional, performance, and security testing for applications.
Technical Skills: oProficiency in SQL, Oracle databases, and familiarity with APEX environments. oExperience with test case management and defect tracking tools. oFamiliarity with reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Cognos) and ETL processes is a plus.
Soft Skills: oDetail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. oExcellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders. oAbility to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment. Preferred Qualifications: • Certification in Quality Assurance or related testing methodologies. • Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks. • Knowledge of data protection regulations and security best practices.
