OVERVIEWHendall is currently seeking a Business Analyst / Data Analyst with strong analysis and data visualization skills, and experience supporting business operations and processes to join a project team supporting the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The Business Analyst/Data Analyst will be collaborative and demonstrate focus and attention to detail. The Business Analyst/Data Analyst is responsible for documenting and monitoring the implementation of business requirements, as well as tracking, analyzing, and reporting complex information from multiple sources.DUTIES Interpret data, formulate reports, and make recommendations based upon the research findings Design and support data visualizations, including dashboardsApply descriptive statistical analysis to data Create, document, and implement quality control procedures that eliminate data errorsGather data sources to address data issues identified by internal and external reviewsPrepare and deliver presentations, reports, recommendations, or alternatives for improving processes in operational models and workflow proceduresCreate or update documents required as part of business and functional requirementsConduct routine ad hoc data runs and prepare write-ups in response to data queriesRevise processing operations to incorporate new data elements and data quality control and timeliness procedures related to new elementsProvide technical support as necessaryMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a relevant field, plus a minimum of 3+ years' experience in a business analyst or data analyst roleExperience using Excel and SQL, SAS, or other programming languages to query and summarize data from extracts or large databases for generating reports and to aid decision-makingData visualization experience using dashboards in Excel, Tableau, Power BI, etc.Experience developing business process models and workflow diagramsAdvanced Excel skills (task automation; dynamic reports with PivotTables; building formulae; cell formatting; building charts and graphs; large data management with IF, SUM, INDEX, MATCH, VLOOKUP functions)Familiarity with one or more programming languages (e.g., SAS, Python, R)Strong problem-solving skillsStrong written and verbal communications skillsPREFERED QUALIFICATIONSExperience with Atlassian products Jira and ConfluenceExperience with Agile development processesExperience maintaining relational databases using SQLCertification in one or more programming languages (e.g., SAS, Python, R)Strong proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Outlook) to create complex documents, manage schedules, and analyze dataEffective organizational, planning, and time-management skills Experience with claims data or health information managementSalary Range: $90,000 - $110,000For a complete listing of benefits, please visit our careers page at Hendall Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
