Job Description

The Foster Care Homes Worker uses their abilities, under supervision, to support resource families in providing safe, secure care for children in out-of-home placement.

Engages and assists prospective resource (kin, relative, foster, and adoptive) families for placement of support resources for children Completes written documentation and licensing requirements per DHHS guidelines for resource (kin, relative, foster, and adoptive) families Completes written annual documentation and licensing requirements for resource families Provides TIPS-MAPP and Deciding Together preparation for prospective resource families Provides training regarding resource (kinship foster and adoptive) care, as needed Assures that conferences and related activities are conducted within standards Completes and distributes written documentation accurately and timely Facilitates conferences and/or assists staff in conducting conferences and related activities Liaison with DHHS, the courts, community resources, and families Provides services according to compliance guidelines Participates in team meetings Conducts required number of visits to the resource home Assures the resource home has what is needed to provide services to the children in the home Implements Saint Francis Ministries policies and follows directives as required. Follows and adheres to all pertinent Saint Francis Ministries Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), rules, personnel policies and procedures; related accreditation and licensure standards; and federal, state and local rules, statutes, regulations, and contractual terms Is knowledgeable of and follows all safety procedures Reports unusual incidents through appropriate Risk Management, clinical and safety channels Ensures clients' rights are protected Requirements

A bachelor's degree in human services or a related field or five years of full-time equivalent experience in child welfare programming and a high school diploma or GED. Prefer previous experience in child welfare services Must be 21 years of age Must pass a drug screen, Nebraska State Patrol Criminal Background Check, DHHS APS and CPS Central Registry Checks, and Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. Lifting requirements 50 lbs.
