The Opportunity:
The Finance Business Center with Facilities and Business Operations at UCF is seeking a Director of Process Improvement to lead and manage initiatives across the organization. This role is focused on enhancing operational efficiency, reducing costs, and improving overall quality and performance through strategic process improvement efforts.
Responsibilities:
Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of process improvement initiatives, reporting on progress, return on investment, and cost savings.
Oversee the planning, execution, and successful completion of process improvement projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and future improvement opportunities.
Conduct business process reviews and statistical analyses to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement, defining and developing business process documentation that reflects best practices.
Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to streamline operations, eliminate waste, and perform root cause analyses to resolve problems.
Develop and implement a comprehensive process improvement strategy and Lean vision that aligns with the organization’s goals and objectives.
Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, working collaboratively to share ideas, make recommendations, and enhance the quality of deliverables.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and Lean principles throughout the organization, leading Lean events and other activities to improve performance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years of leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.

Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 8 years of experience in process improvement, operational excellence, or a related field, within a manufacturing or large corporate setting, with a demonstrated history of driving operational efficiencies and cost savings.
Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies, with a proven ability to apply these frameworks to real-world challenges; Lean or Six Sigma certification (Black Belt, Green Belt, etc.) is highly preferred.
Comprehensive understanding of cross-functional business functions, including but not limited to operations, finance, customer service, and engineering, with the ability to assess and optimize end-to-end business processes.
Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in data management and the ability to interpret complex data sets to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and performance optimization.
Proven leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, foster collaboration, and drive results through continuous improvement initiatives.
Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all organizational levels, from frontline staff to senior leadership.
Ability to manage multiple, high-priority projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, maintaining a high level of organization, attention to detail, and adaptability.
Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently, navigate complex challenges, and drive results in a dynamic, ever-evolving operational landscape.
