Job Description

Valytics LLC is currently seeking junior and mid-level Information Security Specialists to join our team. As an Information Security Specialist, you will leverage your expertise in cybersecurity to evaluate system vulnerabilities, implement effective controls, and ensure compliance with security standards. You will work closely with teams to enhance security posture, automate security processes, and address emerging threats. Key Responsibilities: Security Engineering:

Design, develop, and implement security solutions to protect systems and data. Risk Management:

Assess and mitigate risks associated with new technologies and systems. Vulnerability Management:

Identify, assess, and remediate vulnerabilities in systems and applications. Compliance:

Ensure compliance with security regulations and industry standards, such as NIST and FISMA. Incident Response:

Respond to security incidents and conduct investigations. Security Awareness:

Educate and train staff on security best practices. Minimum Requirements: US citizenship with the ability to obtain a DOD security clearance. Applicants with ACTIVE clearances will receive additional consideration. IAT Level II certification met with at least one of the following certifications: CCNA Security, Security+, GSEC, or SSCP is required. Residence in Virginia, Maryland, or DC metro area. Minimum 2 years of experience in cybersecurity or software engineering. Minimum 2 years of experience with NIST SP 800-53 and application security. Substantial knowledge of advanced theory and current practices in cybersecurity. Experience with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). Strong understanding of vulnerability management, risk management, and compliance. Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) to perform system Assessment and Authorization through a Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance (GRC) tool. Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences. Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Management, Business Administration, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or other Engineering discipline. Nice to Haves: Experience with eMASS. Experience with Cloud and Cloud Security such as AWS, Oracle, or Azure. Experience with web-application penetration testing or red/blue teams. Experience with CI/CD Security Gates and DevSecOps pipelines. Salary Range:

The salary range noted represents the company’s minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The salary made at offering for this position is based on a comprehensive evaluation of candidates' skills, years of experience, and directly related expertise to the specific requirements of the role. Compensation will be determined by considering various factors, including but not limited to the individual's qualifications, competencies, and alignment with the responsibilities outlined in the job description.
