VP of Finance

Job Title: Vice President (VP) of Finance Location : 113 E Main St, La Grange, KY 40031 Reports To : President/CEO Salary Range : $70,000-$90,000 FLSA Status : Exempt, Salary Company Overview : Encompass is a dynamic, growth-oriented company with a strong commitment to excellence, innovation, and servant leadership. As a key member of the executive team, the VP of Finance will play a critical role in shaping the company's financial strategy, ensuring operational efficiency, and providing insights that drive sound decision-making across all levels of the organization. Position Overview: The Vice President of Finance is responsible for overseeing and directing the financial operations of the company. The VP will lead the fiscal functions of the corporation in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), industry standards, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will bring strong financial leadership, strategic vision, and a collaborative approach to financial management, supporting the company’s long-term goals and day-to-day operations. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Financial Leadership Report directly to the President/CEO, working closely with other senior leaders to develop and implement the company’s financial strategies. Contribute to the development of the company’s business plans, ensuring financial objectives align with overall corporate strategy. Provide expert financial advice on long-range planning, new programs/strategies, and regulatory changes. Establish and maintain credibility within the organization by delivering timely, accurate, and insightful financial analysis and reports. Financial Operations & Performance Management Plan, develop, organize, and oversee the company's fiscal function and financial performance. Provide analysis and insights on budgets, financial reports, and trends to support decision-making by the CEO and other senior leadership. Establish and enforce company-wide financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to optimize operational efficiency. Monitor business performance and identify areas for improvement or risk mitigation. Risk Management & Financial Oversight Oversee cost and general accounting, including accounts receivable, collections, and cash flow management. Implement effective risk management practices to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations. Manage banking relationships and strategize on enhancing the company’s cash position, securing necessary funding, and managing liquidity. Develop reliable cash flow projections and ensure there is a clear mechanism for monitoring financial health. Financial Reporting & Compliance Prepare and present financial reports, including monthly reconciliation and year-end financial statements, for review by the CPA. Oversee the arrangement and execution of audits as required. Review partner billing and approve ACH and wire payments as necessary. Team Leadership & Development Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the department. Continuously evaluate the structure of the finance division to drive improvements, provide professional development opportunities, and support individual growth. Foster a collaborative, servant-leadership culture within the finance team and across the organization. Executive Leadership Team Serve as an integral member of the Servant Leadership Team, contributing to the broader company strategy and decision-making. Lead the development and continuous evaluation of short- and long-term financial objectives in line with the company’s strategic goals. Ensure financial insights are integrated into the decision-making process for new contracts, acquisitions, and other major business initiatives. Additional Responsibilities Complete tasks as assigned by the President/CEO to support the overall goals of the company. Required Qualifications: Education : Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred). Experience : Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in finance or accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., VP or Director). Technical Expertise : Extensive knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling. Leadership : Proven track record in managing, developing, and motivating finance teams. Strong ability to influence at all levels of the organization and act as a strategic partner to senior leadership. Communication Skills : Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders. Problem Solving : Strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset with the ability to make decisions based on data and strategic objectives. Preferred Qualifications: Industry Experience : Previous experience working in the

construction

or

related industries (e.g., engineering, manufacturing, real estate development, or infrastructure)

with a focus on project-based accounting, cost tracking, and financial reporting for construction projects. Experience with Construction Accounting : Familiarity with industry-specific financial practices such as job costing, progress billing, change order management, and construction contract accounting. Familiarity with Sage Advanced knowledge of financial software, ERP systems, and budgeting tools. A history of successful collaboration with cross-functional teams, with an emphasis on teamwork and servant leadership principles.
