Founded in 2006, Ambassadors For Christ, Inc. (AFC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
committed to providing multi-faceted mentoring and counseling programs to at-risk children and
youth, and their families. Through our innovative programs, we have touched the lives of more
than 5,500 youth, giving them hope, encouragement, and better equipping them for success in
life.
We are presently seeking candidates with excellent skills and experience working with at-risk youth to serve as a Case Manager for our Growth Opportunities Program. The Case Manager will facilitate intake and assessments, referrals, outreach, recruitment, and retention efforts, and will report to the program's Project Manager.
The purpose of the Growth Opportunities Program is to introduce and prepare justice-involved youth and young adults for the world of work through placement into paid work experiences, and on a path to more equitable career opportunities with their peers. In addition to paid work experiences, the program encompasses occupational education and training in in-demand industries, leadership development, a mentorship component, and post-work experience placement into unsubsidized employment and/or education.
This program focuses on youth and young adults most impacted by community violence to advance equity, particularly in areas of concentrated crime and poverty as well as communities that have recently experienced significant unrest.

Key Areas of Contribution: Client Services and Program Implementation • Assess clients' needs and maintain regular contact (at least twice weekly) to assist in accomplishing identified goals • Engage clients in educational, vocational, and life skill programming, including occupational education and training in in-demand industries • Foster conflict resolution skills and violence prevention strategies among youth • Facilitate client access to public transportation and other necessary resources • Actively recruit youth for the program and engage in outreach efforts • Coordinate leadership development and mentorship initiatives with community-based violence prevention partners • Collaborate with the team on planning and implementing engagement activities • Recruit, train, and match mentors with assigned mentee(s) • Actively seek, track, and secure donations and volunteers to meet the program match requirements Impact: At-risk and justice-involved youth receive comprehensive support, including mentorship, occupational training, and leadership development, leading to improved conflict resolution skills, enhanced job readiness, and increased chances of successful integration into the workforce and community.
Employment and Career Development • Introduce youth to the world of work by identifying career interests and obtaining relevant skills • Assist in post-work experience placement into unsubsidized employment and/or education • Identify opportunities to partner with employers adopting fair chance hiring policies • Engage employers to develop high-quality work experiences for clients Impact: Youth gain valuable work experience, develop career-relevant skills, and receive support in transitioning to unsubsidized employment or further education. Through partnerships with fair chance employers and high-quality work experiences, participants are empowered to overcome barriers and successfully enter the workforce, leading to improved long-term career prospects and economic stability.
Documentation, Collaboration, and Professional Growth • Provide documentation for reporting purposes • Assist with quarterly reports and other reporting per program requirements • Keep supervisor fully informed of clients' progress at all times • Manage communications across systems and serve as a liaison for clients • Develop collaborative relationships with other community partners for clients' support • Commit to engage in personal and professional growth • Participate in competence development and training to increase capacity to serve youth Impact: Through diligent documentation, effective communication, and collaborative partnerships, the program achieves enhanced transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement. This results in more comprehensive client support, stronger community networks, and improved outcomes for youth participants. The ongoing professional development of staff further amplifies the program's capacity to serve youth effectively and adapt to evolving needs. INTERNAL USE:
Must haves: • Two years of experience in case management/social work practices preferably with high-risk youth and young adult populations • High School Diploma or GED • Ability to work in a variety of settings with culturally diverse families and communities with the ability to be culturally sensitive and appropriate • Understand, comply with, and implement Trauma-Informed Care concepts and a Strengths-Based Approach • A strong sense of and respect for confidentiality involving both clients and fellow employees • Self-motivation, initiative, sound judgment, and commitment to ongoing learning • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites, Google Workspace, and Internet usage • Experience in writing reports and correspondence • Have sound judgment and the ability to supervise mentors in the field • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people in a fast-paced environment • Ability to address conflict well and manage difficult youth and young adults in a supportive and non-threatening manner; able to respond quickly and safely and serve as a settling influence in crisis situations and emergencies. • Supports equal and fair treatment and opportunity for all • Is approachable, builds rapport well, and practices attentive and active listening • Ability to work independently with a strong sense of focus • Scrappy and adaptable • Creativity and flexibility are essential in assuming significant responsibility • Entrepreneurial and innovative mindset • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and online databases • Valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle with current insurance, and the willingness to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area • Must obtain a clean driving record throughout employment

communities preferred • Bachelor's degree with coursework in social work, psychology, volunteer management, or related field • Undergraduate degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, or related field of study; or equivalent work experience. • Proficient in Salesforce (preferred) • Bilingual in Spanish (plus)
