The Firestone Family began farming in the Vancouver, WA, in 1896. We are a fully integrated grower processing operation for domestic and export fruit customers. Our fruit is harvested at the peak of ripeness, processed in our state-of-the art facility, and packed for shipment, ensuring quality in every product from the farm where it was grown to the finished bag in the consumer's freezer.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Transporation Manager, the Transportation Coordinator supports the plant mission by planning, organizing, and monitoring logistics activities for inbound Purchase Orders and inventory transfers.
Responsibilities:
Plan and execute the daily, weekly, and monthly material inventory arrival schedule: release, monitor, and expedite materials required for production. Schedule all supply transfer and carrier movement from warehouses based on the production schedule. Direct inbound loads from suppliers with consideration to lead times, volumes, price, warehouse location, production requirements and constraints. Regularly monitor status of all transfers and inbound loads. Communicate any and all arrival concerns for materials within the Purchasing Department Analyze, investigate, and provide contingency plans for solutions to inbound logistical operational problems and issues. Communicate transfers and inbound activity with Purchasing Team, Warehouse Supervisors and Production Planner. Authorize and submit invoice documents of all logistical transactions and billings to the Accounting Department. Promote good supplier relationships to maintain a stable production facility Manage the maintenance, preparation and routing of purchase orders Review purchase orders and shipment contents prior to releasing them from our facility Respond to customer inquiries and refer clients to the appropriate channels Ensure quality of all services and processes within the facility Manage outbound trucking logistics and inbound import container logistics Respond to phone & e-mail request from customers & carriers and schedule appointments Essential Job Functions:
2-year Associates degree is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 2 years of dispatch and logistics experience, preferably within the consumer goods manufacturing industry. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to work with mathematical concepts; basic accounting knowledge. High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Chrome, and Microsoft Outlook, as well as ERP systems. Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment and work load Valid driver's license. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift materials up to 20 pounds. Fluent English; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Must be vaccinated or willing to be vaccinated - COVID-19 (.
