Associate Director of Counseling Services

is responsible for leading the University's Counseling Services, managing clinical services, expanding mental health resources, and increasing student utilization of these resources. The Associate Director coordinates resources to support students' mental health on all campuses (Chicago, Wheeling, Lisle, Tampa, Online) and manages the Counseling Center offices. This role includes providing one-on-one counseling, consultation, outreach, and urgent-response services. Additionally, the Associate Director serves as the Chief Crisis Counselor and the University's Confidential Advisor for Title IX incidents, focusing on best practices for mental health services for low-income, racially diverse students. Essential Responsibilities

Administrative: Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure adherence to clinical standards, legislation, and professional ethics. Provide administrative supervision for full-time, part-time, and student employees. Regularly maintain and update the Counseling Center website and manage teletherapy services. Clinical Services & Counseling: Coordinate clinical services to ensure responsiveness to student needs. Maintain a comprehensive referral network and assist faculty with complex student issues. Monitor alerts for health concerns and provide faculty and staff support on referrals. Supervision: Provide clinical supervision for licensed counselors and interns. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and maintain necessary documentation. Budget & Finances: Manage the Counseling Center's budget and collaborate for grant opportunities. Crisis: Serve as the Confidential Advisor for Title IX incidents and manage a caseload of students in crisis. Other: Additional tasks as assigned by university leadership. Willingness to travel and work flexible hours. Qualifications

Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field; terminal degree preferred. Active IL license (LCPC or LCSW) and ability to get licensed in Florida. 3-5 years of professional mental health counseling experience. 1-3 years of experience in managing and supervising staff. Preferred experience in a college/university counseling center. NLU offers a range of benefits, including health insurance and retirement benefits. The salary range for this position is $63,288 to $91,768 annually. Application Instructions
