Position Statement:
The Marketing Director will serve as a key leader in planning, implementing, managing, and executing the Firm's marketing strategies. Leveraging expertise in professional services marketing and cross-functional leadership, the Director will architect holistic strategies that influence firm growth, enhance brand equity, and optimize performance across all offices, departments, services, and industry niche groups.
The Marketing Director is responsible for leading the strategy behind the Firm's marketing efforts, focusing on aligning culture, internal and external communications, and brand strategy. The Marketing Director is the steward of the Firm's brand and culture, driving innovative strategies that engage clients, prospects, and team members alike. By fostering collaboration and leveraging the team's unique skillsets, the Director ensures the execution of impactful campaigns and initiatives that reflect the Firm's bold and dynamic identity.
This role demands a visionary mindset, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to translate complex challenges into clear, strategic initiatives that align with firm goals. The Marketing Director is expected to lead by example, fostering a collaborative team culture by actively engaging in firm events, meetings, and initiatives-showing up to inspire, support, and drive results. B2B experience is essential, and experience in professional services is strongly preferred.
Concentration: Strategic Leadership & Development
Develop and execute the Firm's marketing strategy to drive growth, enhance brand visibility, and foster a strong culture. Collaborate with leadership across offices and service lines to align marketing efforts with business goals. Leverage marketing platforms, with a preference for HubSpot, to drive data-driven strategies, streamline campaigns, and enhance both internal and external communication efforts. Lead brand positioning, firm communications, public relations, and multi-channel marketing campaigns to effectively engage clients, prospects, and team members. Collaborate with the Director of Market Strategy and niche/service/executive leadership to align marketing goals and KPIs with a firmwide growth strategy to drive brand consistency and awareness and enhance client engagement. Act as a leader and advocate of marketing practices to guide market position and market share growth. Deliver actionable intelligence to refine lead generation, conversion funnels, and overall marketing performance. Manage the marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for maximum ROI. Lead and manage project-based initiatives, including innovation efforts, automation, joint ventures, M&A and partnerships. Lead, mentor and grow the marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration and continuous improvement, leveraging their expertise to deliver innovative and results-driven marketing initiatives.
Brand Management & Industry Engagement
Conduct in-depth studies of buyer personas, client journeys, and market trends to develop targeted marketing strategies, personalize client interactions and optimize the overall client experience. Lead the conceptualization, development, distribution and analysis of the Firm's comprehensive internal and external communication strategy. Support the Firm's industry presence, reputation and growth goals by leveraging media relationships for external placement opportunities and overseeing sponsorship and association involvement, including contract negotiation. Develop and oversee training and onboarding programs for new hires to ensure a deep understanding of the firm's brand, culture, and communication standards, fostering alignment and engagement from day one. Lead internal marketing initiatives and employee experience programs to strengthen the firm's culture, ensuring consistent and engaging communication that aligns with the brand and fosters connection, collaboration, and engagement across all teams.
Profitability:
Involvement with internally focused projects to improve procedures by participation in committees, technical training, HR initiatives and other firm-related projects. Practice Growth:
Identify opportunities to reduce firm costs. Implement tools and processes to improve the achievement of practice development objectives and increase the visibility of progress against goals. Client Focus :
Provide a high-quality, accurate work product to both internal and external clients. Provide solid support to professional staff and respond to requests in a timely manner. Demonstrates comprehension of relevant accounting knowledge, technology concepts and other methodologies. Brand Culture/Development:
Exemplify Brand Attributes of the Firm. Comply with all policies and procedures of the Firm. Demonstrate ability to work individually or in a team environment and address conflict with peers and superiors. Work Experience and Education:
Must have either marketing experience in a professional services firm and/or a degree in Marketing, PR, Communications or Business. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload in a deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision. Ability to build good working relationships with associates, including top-level management. Maintain relationships with other professional services marketing peers in the local/service area. Must be actively involved in the community as well as the Association of Accounting Marketing and /or American Marketing Association, in addition to GR8 and BDO. Organizational Relationships:
Direct supervision of Digital Manager, Creative Manager, Marketing & Events Coordinator and Marketing & HR Administrative Specialist. Will report directly to the Director of Market Strategy/Marketing Partner, who will provide any necessary guidance relative to work performance through the formal evaluation process. Special Requirements:
Ability to work evenings and weekends based on time of year and client demands.
