Description

Turion Space is looking for an IT Systems Administrator to join our Platform Team, working alongside Network, Security, and Platform Engineers to provide comprehensive IT infrastructure and support. The ideal candidate will collaborate within this integrated team environment to ensure smooth daily IT operations while contributing to broader platform initiatives.

As part of the Platform Team, you'll work in close coordination with: Our Network Engineer managing network infrastructure Our Security Engineer overseeing security posture Platform Engineers developing and maintaining our core systems Together, this integrated team ensures robust, secure, and efficient IT operations across Turion Space. Key Responsibilities

Systems & Infrastructure

Work as an integral member of the Platform Team to implement and maintain IT systems that align with our network architecture and security requirements Build and maintain highly resilient, high-performance, scalable systems in coordination with Platform Engineers Collaborate with the Network Engineer on infrastructure deployments and system connectivity Partner with the Security Engineer to implement security protocols and best practices Drive automation initiatives to streamline IT operations Maintain system documentation and contribute to team knowledge base Participate in Platform Team projects and initiatives Technical Support & Operations

Serve as primary point of contact for IT support, coordinating with specialized team members as needed Configure, install, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues for desktops, laptops, printers, and video conferencing equipment Manage user lifecycle including onboarding, provisioning, de-provisioning, and account creation across multiple platforms Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations and inventory Log and track IT support tickets using systems like Zendesk, Jira, or similar Ensure timely completion of tasks while balancing team priorities Communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Personnel Security Clearance (PCL) At least 3 years of technical experience in configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting, including Help Desk and IT Specialist roles Experience with Linux and Windows servers in physical and virtualized enterprise environments Proficiency in Windows 10/11, Office 365, Linux environments, and backup applications Experience with ticketing systems such as Jira Python, Bash, PowerShell (or similar) scripting experience Strong understanding of networking fundamentals to collaborate effectively with our Network Engineer Basic understanding of security principles to support our Security Engineer's initiatives Excellent communication skills and ability to work in an integrated team environment Willing to work extended hours or weekends as necessary Willing to be on after-hours on-call rotation Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in cross-functional technical teams Understanding of DevOps practices and tools Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Knowledge of Windows-based systems and services (SCCM, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP) Experience with Linux services such as MySQL, InfluxDB, Grafana, NGINX, Apache Familiarity with source code and version control tools Track record of successful collaboration with networking and security specialists Experience supporting development and engineering teams Strong documentation and process improvement skills Ability to balance day-to-day support with strategic platform initiatives ITAR Requirements:
