Caring. Connecting. Growing together. UnitedHealth Group is a leading health care and well-being company dedicated to helping people live healthier lives and making the health system work better for everyone. We operate through two distinct and complementary businesses: Optum: Delivers care supported by technology and data, empowering individuals, partners, and providers with the tools and guidance needed to achieve better health outcomes. UnitedHealthcare: Offers a comprehensive range of health benefits, providing affordable coverage, simplifying the health care experience, and ensuring access to high-quality care. Sustainability is integral to UnitedHealth Group’s business strategy, culture, and mission. We strive to ensure the health care system works better for everyone, delivering distinct value to our shareholders and society at large. Our businesses operate under regulatory licenses governed by state insurance laws and federal and state banking regulations, requiring defined levels of capital to support operations. Investment management at UnitedHealth Group oversees the investment of approximately $80 billion in capital, adhering to investment policies, guidelines, and regulatory limits. Our goal is to optimize the risk/return profile of the overall portfolio by diversifying investments across high-quality asset classes. As an Associate Director of Investments, you will be crucial in overseeing insurance investment portfolios and managing external managers. Your responsibilities will include monitoring the investment markets and staying updated with the latest financial news. There is a focus on researching and analyzing fixed income investments with exposure to venture capital and private credit. You will work to prudently enhance investment income, develop and manage models, and assist in portfolio management decisions. Collaboration and effective communication with other treasury teams is essential due to the complexity of our organizational structure. Additionally, you will be involved in reporting requirements, utilizing tools such as Bloomberg PORT and PowerBI. Primary Responsibilities:

Provide oversight of UnitedHealth Group’s (UHG) investment decisions and ensure that all investments are within UHG’s investment policy and investment policy guidelines. Proactively process overall market, economic and investment information/data from outside sources applying it for idea generation and investment decision making. Oversee and provide security research using internal (e.g. PAM, Bloomberg, FactSet) and external (e.g. third-party research, outside advisors) sources for purposes of determining creditworthiness. Identify and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the features of a bond that would materially affect its performance. Support Portfolio Manager with reviewing and authoring memos and responding to requests for portfolio/investment information. Recommend appropriate benchmarking for the different investment mandates. Provide research and decision support related to special projects as needed. Assist with the management of external vendor relationships and inquiries from internal and external sources. Ensure adherence to compliance requirements and provide reporting as needed. You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role
