SUMMARY:
As a strong communicator and skilled hands-on Manufacturing Mechanic, you will provide preventive maintenance (PM) and administer repairs as necessary. Ensuring that the Company equipment is in good operating condition in the support of manufacturing. Must be able to explain the respective role within the QMS and how their role contributes to quality. Be aware of ethical behavior and conduct themselves accordingly to Karman policies and procedures.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and Realize AS 9100 procedures and continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Responsible for the Preventive Maintenance program (PM).
- Responsible for maintaining the facility in good operating manner.
- Responsible for maintaining the manufacturing equipment in good operating manner.
- Responsible for maintaining the tools in good operating manner.
- Coordinating repairs requiring outside suppliers.
- Must understand how customer products are impacted in the event of failure.
- Any other duties as assigned.
- Executes routine maintenance on machines, CNC and conventional lathes, mills, and related equipment.
- Creates, updates, and records all preventative maintenance schedules.
- Troubleshoots CNC controls.
- Disassembles various parts using parts manuals.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be detail oriented, extremely organized, have excellent communication skills and be able to interact well with all levels of Management.
- Must have excellent blueprint interpretation skills.
- Must have thorough understanding of machine set-ups, tooling, and cutters.
- Must have direct communication with internal customers.
- Must be trained of applicable changes & customer requirements.
- Must know the QMS basic system of reporting, record keeping and follow instructions.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High school graduate or equivalent in work experience.
- Adequate years of experience in repairs of tools and manufacturing equipment determined by Karman.
- Adequate years of experience monitoring preventive maintenance programs determined but Karman.
- Must have working knowledge of CNC machines and able to do repairs as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Constant standing/walking/sitting for at least 8 hours.
- Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying up to 50 lbs, minimum 35 lbs.
- Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment.
- Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less. Corrective lenses may be worn to fulfill requirement.
- Prolonged periods of repetitive movement are required.
- Constant holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hand(s).
- Occasional extending of arms to reach overhead, at shoulder level and below shoulder level.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This position operates in a warehouse/shop/manufacturing environment.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- No travel is required for this position.
