Interventional Pulmonologist

Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Hyperbaric, and Sleep Medicine is seeking a board eligible/board certified Interventional Pulmonologist to expand our division.
The position will include clinical duties in the thoracic oncology outpatient clinic, inpatient interventional pulmonology consult service, and medical intensive care unit. Approximately 15% protected time will be provided for scholarly endeavors.
Loma Linda University Medical Center is a tertiary care, Level 1 trauma center, and academic institution with a brand-new state-of-the-art hospital. The Interventional Pulmonology Service, as part of the Advanced Lung Disease Center and Cancer Institute, is integral to the institution’s care of patients with thoracic disease. It oversees the thoracic oncology clinic and thoracic tumor board, has a collegial and collaborative relationship with thoracic surgery and oncology specialties, and provides inpatient consultation and procedural services typical of a tertiary- interventional pulmonology practice. These include, among others, robotic-assisted bronchoscopy, rigid bronchoscopy and associated therapeutic applications, and various pleural procedures including medical thoracoscopy. Advanced practice providers assist with clinic, inpatient consultation, and procedural duties.
The candidate will join an academic division that includes faculty at three locations, Loma Linda University Medical Center, Loma Linda VA Medical Center, and Riverside University Health System. Our training program matriculates five pulmonary and critical care fellows per year. The bronchoscopy/interventional pulmonology rotation and its associated educational offerings are consistently cited by the fellows as a rewarding and popular rotation.
Our current research and academic interests in interventional pulmonology include advanced diagnostic bronchoscopy, educational applications, and quality improvement, with recent publications in each of these domains. At the Division level our faculty study aspects in high altitude medicine, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, critical care ultrasound, sedation management, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, sleep disorders, hyperbaric medicine, sepsis, hemodynamic monitoring, critical care procedures, biomarker discovery, ethics and humanities in medicine.
We invite applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor level or above. Candidates should possess academic interests, a dynamic personality, and be board certified or eligible in Interventional Pulmonology, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. Experience or interest in Hyperbaric Medicine would be highly desirable.
Faculty within the Department of Medicine are welcome to explore academic pursuits through teaching and/or research, as well as provide care to the underserved through our partnerships with SAC Health System in the Inland Empire and Guam Seventh-day Adventist Clinic in Micronesia. Compensation & Benefits
The compensation range listed is for starting base compensation only and is adjusted based upon years of experience and/or faculty rank: $305,000 - $345,000. This amount does not include variable compensation or extra productivity and is subject to the individual department compensation plans. More information on compensation is discussed with the departments during the recruitment process.
