Learning and Development Specialist

The Learning & Development Specialist partners closely with department heads and subject matter experts to develop, design, and implement training programs, learning management system training plans, new hire orientation, and internal career pathing programs that meet both company standards and state regulations and ensure all team members are set up for success throughout the employment lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with department heads and subject matter experts to create a comprehensive library of current training materials, identify gaps and inconsistencies, and assess on-going training needs.
- Using proven learning techniques, create a full Vitality training program for each community position, using a combination of checklists, classroom learning, and virtual training.
- Create and manage a company-wide new hire orientation program.
- Create and track learning assessments to ensure learning transfer is happening effectively.
- Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs.
- Create and maintain training program materials such as presentation decks, videos, handouts, job aids, etc. that speak to all learning styles.
- Develop career path models to show growth and development opportunities within the company.
- Manage the coordination and facilitation of training classes.
- Manage training schedules for new acquisitions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Organizational Development, or related field
- 3-5 years’ experience in a corporate training role
- At least one year of Instructional Design experience or in a similar role applying adult learning principles and methodologies to create engaging learning activities and compelling course content
- The ability to take new information and relay it to others in an easy-to-understand way
- Experience managing a learning management system with Relias experience preferred
- Videography and video editing skills highly preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
- Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to travel up to 20%
- This is a Full Time salary exempt position
- Hybrid (requires three days in office per week)
- Reports to the VP of People and Culture
- Travel up to 20%
