Senior Accountant

Location: Rosemont, IL (Hybrid)

The Senior Accountant provides support to the Accounting Manager and assists with timely and accurate financial reporting including financial statements, variance analysis, and ad-hoc reports. This role is also a key player in contributing to the overall implementation of the Accounting team's objectives. The Senior Accountant will ensure that procedures and practices promote safety and soundness to mitigate fraud or inaccurate reporting by utilizing independent judgment and professional expertise.

Responsibilities

1. Coordinate and participate in the monthly close process including preparing monthly journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and updating various monthly financial reports
2. Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
3. Complete reconciliations of expense accounts for reviewing financial results
4. Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing accounting information
5. Reconcile inter-company receivables and payables
6. Research unreconciled balances
7. Document accounting and control procedures
8. Assist with new ASC 606 Revenue Recognition analyses and implementation
9. Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options
10. Assist with annual audit
11. Assist with the integration of future acquisitions
12. Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policies and regulations

1. Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
2. CPA preferred but not required
3. 2-4 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
4. Prior experience with account reconciliation required
5. Experience with Sage 300, TRUX, Tower, QuickBooks, or other large automated accounting system is a plus
6. Must have strong experience with Microsoft Word and Excel (Vlookups, SUMIFs, Pivot Tables)
