Job Description:
Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to contribute to our ongoing growth and innovation across product families. This role encompasses both hardware and firmware aspects of embedded system design and offers a unique opportunity to lead advanced development initiatives while mentoring team members and collaborating across disciplines.
The Senior Electrical Engineer will play a pivotal role in new product development, industrialization, and sustaining existing products in a production environment. The position requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership, and creative problem-solving to drive innovation and ensure product reliability and performance
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Maintain and improve existing products within the production environment, ensuring continued alignment with market expectations.
- Manage electrical engineering projects from concept to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk assessment.
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of embedded systems and components for various applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards (UL/CSA, CE/EMC, FM, FCC, etc.).
- Create and review schematics, wiring diagrams, and other technical documents.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., mechanical, project management, purchasing, manufacturing engineers, etc.) to integrate electrical changes seamlessly.
- Develop and execute test plans to ensure product performance, reliability, and safety.
- Analyze test data, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering technical growth and innovation.
- Provide expert input during design reviews and technical decision-making processes.
- Drive innovation through advanced development of new ideas and product concepts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ or more years of related experience
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Proficiency in analog and digital circuit design, microcontroller programming, and embedded software development.
- Hands-on experience working with embedded microcontrollers or microprocessors (e.g., 8-bit, 16-bit, ARM) is highly valued.
- Familiarity with basic sensing technologies and their interfacing, such as magnetic or optical systems, is a plus.
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout software, such as Altium, is beneficial but not required.
- Familiarity with performance and reliability testing methodologies.
- Proficiency in using test instruments such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, data acquisition systems, and environmental chambers to troubleshoot and validate PCBs and electronic products is highly desirable
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to support product development or technical support is advantageous
- Familiarity with programming and scripting languages like C/C++, Python, and Bash, as well as tools such as Altium for PCB design and Octave for mathematical modeling, is highly advantageous. These skills provide a strong foundation for developing, simulating, and troubleshooting complex embedded systems
