Director of Accounting

Growing accounting/tax firm has asked Accountants One to secure a Director of Accounting to oversee all financial operations at their firm.  This role will also manage the accounting team (all remote- 10 people), and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in accounting and finance, client facing experience and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare compilation of financial reports for clients and deliver.
• Develop strong relationships with clients, and procure necessary documentation.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to provide actionable insights and recommendations to leadership as well as clients.
• Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate audits and tax filings.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, AppFolio) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
