Job Description
Candidate should possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. This position is under the direct supervision of the Attorney/Owner for AGF Law. Employee is responsible for helping attorney prepare for trial, managing litigation paperwork, monitoring budgets, timelines, and billing for case completion. They also conduct legal research, draft legal documents and case summaries, and review documents for compliance and legal requirements. Other responsibilities include:
· Reviewing medical records, police reports, and other documents to gather information about clients’ cases;
· Interviewing clients to assess their needs and develop plans to meet those needs;
· Coordinating client meetings with attorneys or other legal professionals as needed;
· Coordinating case progress with attorneys, clients, physicians, insurance companies; and other parties involved in the case;
· Filing documents with the court.
This position also performs a variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties. These duties include but are not limited to: answering telephones and interfacing with walk-ins, responding to client phone calls and emails, drafting, editing, and sending out letters and email, following processes and procedures, data entry, mail handling, meeting scheduling and setup, and office travel coordination. This position is outward facing, requiring inter-office communication as well as communication and assistance with members of the public. A high degree of professionalism in both demeanor and attire is required. Other duties as assigned. Spanish speaking is required.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements (unless waived by owner): Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience; OR one year of experience in a relevant position in a law office; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
