Overview

at Southern Glazer’s work with one or more product portfolios and report to the Director, Digital Product Design. This role is focused on SG Proof, our suite of e-commerce products and services for B2B customers. Within a portfolio, a senior product designer has the responsibility to:

Primary Responsibilities

Ideate and develop design concepts

Understand the product’s users and their needs and buying habits

Lead problem-framing & ideation sessions

Lead design concepting and storyboarding to map out ideas

Create design hypotheses and explore divergent ideas and potential solutions

Prototype and iterate

Create user flows, storyboards, high quality wireframes, low and high-fidelity app design prototypes

Collaborate with design researchers to continuously learn & iterate design work

Present design work

Lead design reviews with executive-level colleagues

Provide solid rationale for design decisions

Ensure design coherence and advocate for design systems

Help to define the product’s design language and ensure consistency of interaction design patterns

Additional Primary Responsibilities

Follow app design, usability, and accessibility best practices

Model collaboration and thought leadership, help colleagues develop and articulate design POVs

Collaborate with app development:

Close collaboration with app developers on foundations, frameworks, annotations and iterations throughout the development process

Partner with release engineers and QA teammates to ensure design intent is realized and products are successfully brought to market

Partner with analytics to ensure apps are appropriately tagged to understand performance

Partner with product management

Support the OKRs of product portfolios as a senior design partner

Help the portfolio director understand customer needs through research, interviews, workshops, story mapping, and similar techniques

Minimum Qualifications

8+ years of digital product design experience, inclusive of mobile app design, web design, and design systems

5+ years of experience designing enterprise-level e-commerce applications (web and/or native app

Portfolio inclusive of digital project work showing end-to-end experience: from ideation to launch

Familiarity with the full app development lifecycle, using product roadmaps, story mapping, writing design stories, designing features, direct collaboration with development teams, app store submission

Expert knowledge of:

Design & prototyping tools (Figma, Protopie, Framer, Canvaa)

Collaboration tools (Miro, Confluence, Jira)

Global design systems

Common mobile app frameworks (Flutter, FlutterFlow, React Native, PWA)

Ability to generate, visualize and prototype new concepts to demonstrate and test with users and stakeholders

Physical Demands

Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or adding machine

Physical demands with activity or condition may include walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping

May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
