Job Description
We are looking for dedicated 1st and 3rd shift Production Operators in the Nutritional Department. The Nutritional Yeast Operator ensures that the product is processed and packaged correctly and in a timely manner. This role requires a wide range of knowledge and skills to maintain quality and efficiency in production.
Responsibilities- Perform sanitation on equipment, infrastructure, grounds, and other assigned areas.
- Monitor quality assurance controls during the production process.
- Conduct product analysis, weight checks, and code data verification.
- Record and maintain accurate written and electronic information.
- Understand and follow safety, GMP, food safety, and other rules or policies.
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspect infrastructure and equipment and notify management when maintenance is required.
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment and process problems.
- Operate forklift as needed (certification not required prior to starting).
- 1+ year of production/manufacturing experience
- Ability to lift up to 75lbs
- Ability to stand on feet for up to 12 hours at a time
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Experience with production, troubleshooting, and mechanical tasks.
- Mechanical aptitude and machine operation skills.

Work EnvironmentThe production facility produces yeast and is highly automated. Safety is a top priority. The environment is very hot, often exceeding 100 degrees in the production room. Employees must be able to handle the heat and stand for 12-hour shifts. Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, high precarious places, extreme cold/heat, and loud noise levels is to be expected. Shifts follow a 2 on 2 off, 3 on 3 off schedule, working every other weekend and off every other weekend. Hours are 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am. Dress code includes steel toe boots, lab coat/pants, hair/beard net, and safety gear.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00

This is a fully onsite position in Cedar Rapids,IA.
