POSITION SUMMARY

The EVS Lead Aid performs a variety of cleaning functional guidance and direction to the Enviromental Service Technicians and projects in the performance of their duties. Oversees job assignments, provide necessary support to facility need, equipment and materials to assure the EVS Techs/Floor Care Techs complete their assignments in a thorough and timely manner. Lead Techs are also responsible for monitoring a higher standard of clean in our patient rooms and ancillary areas. Lead Techs will complete quality assessments on Environmental Service Technicians using several educational tools including but not limited to physical demonstration, written, verbal communication and by conducting 3M clean- Trace Luminometer LX25, as well as provide acute results to the management team or appropriat3e personnel. Lead Techs are responsible completing rounds on patients, patient rooms, and all ancillary areas associated with the hospital. To follow departmental policies and procedures, while also demonstrating individual judgement on work related problems and customer interactions and leadership with EVS Techs. To provide a clean environment to all Patient Care areas following Infection Control guidelines. Responsible for maintaining the level of Discharge turnovers at an appropriate time. Determine daily schedules and access Care Aware Capacity Management system. The person doing this job is responsible for a variety of tasks that lead to a high level of customer satisfaction in the most cost effective manner. To provide a clean and pleasant environment for patient staff, and visitors at all times. Ensure a bacteriological safe environment in all areas of the hospital. The ability to maintain the resilience of floors in all areas of the hospital.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Safeguard and preserves the confidentiality of patients and protected health information in accordance with the state and federal (HIPPA) regulatory requirements, hospital and departmental policies.
  • Ensure a safe patient environment and adherence to safety practices per policy.
  • Cleaning assigned work areas with the correct chemicals and equipment.
  • Know and follow hospital/EVS policy and procedures at all times.
  • Follow safety procedures exactly as outlined in the department's procedure manual.
  • Maintain cleanliness and security of locked medication storage rooms as required.
  • Maintain daily reports on project work or room cleaning. Ensure maintenance request forms are completed. Notify Supervisor of problems.
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain all equipment in the assigned work area assuring that is in safe, clean and proper working order.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and performance of all skills required on the EVS Schedule.
  • Pick up communication tools/equipment by signing in and out at the beginning and ending of each shift. Report any damage to Supervisor.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by Director/Supervisor.
  • Oversee the Discharges though Capacity Management.
  • Comply to all Infection Control guidelines (Title 22)
  • Daily Reports.
  • Know & follow hospital/Department Policy & Procedures at all times
  • Follow Safety procedures exactly as outlined in the department's procedure manual
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain all equipment in the assigned work area assuring that it is in the safe, clean and proper working order.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and or performs all skills as required on department schedule.
  • Follow all Infection Control policies and procedures
  • Pick up communicate tools/equipment and sign out at the beginning of shift. Return and sign in at end of shift.
Report any damage to Supervisor.
  • Assists in training of associates performing both group and individual training
  • Assumes operational authority of the department in the absence of the director or manager. Assumes daily associate supervision in the absence of the manager.
  • All other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS

A. Education
  • High school graduate or GED Preferred
  • Basic skills in reading, writing, and mathematics are required
  • Basic Computer skills
  • Ability to readily learn the use of equipment and housekeeping functions
  • Ability to understand and speak English at the level which allows the safe and effective performance of the job
B. Qualifications/Experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills are a necessity
  • Minimum 1 year experience as an Environmental Service Tech in a health care setting is preferred
C. Special Skills/Knowledge
  • Knowledgeable with Scrubs dispensing equipment
