DCI Engineers, a leading structural and civil engineering consulting firm with 20+ offices spanning the United States, has an opportunity for full-time Structural Bridge Engineer in its Helena, MT office (Missoula, Kalispell, and Bozeman candidates will also be considered).
Responsibilities of a Bridge Engineer:
- Perform and coordinate the structural design of assigned projects under the supervision of the Project Manager
- Collaborate with BIM Designers to produce structural construction documents and draft details in REVIT or AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Assist Project Managers with Construction Support, including shop drawing review and answering RFIs
- Be attentive to details and provide accurate construction documents
- Progressively grow your technical knowledge through both internal project experience and continuing education
- Develop a client base.
- Experience with structural bridge design, bridge load rating, and inspections
- Knowledge of and Experience with the following bridge design/inspection codes & Standard: AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation, National Bridge Inspections Standards (NBIS), Bridge Inspector's Reference Manual (BIRM)
- Working knowledge and project experience with steel plate girder, prestress concrete, reinforced concrete, box culverts, concrete abutment retaining walls, and driven piles
- Working knowledge and familiarity with various State agency design and load rating specifications
- Basic knowledge of design/build codes, such as the AISC, ACI 318, IBC, and ASCE 7
- Working knowledge of structural analysis software, such as RISA 3D, RAM, ETABS, Enercalc, ADAPT, PSBeam, AASTOWARE BrR, etc.
- Ability to manage your time, juggling multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Desire to provide excellent service and build client relationships
- Maintain a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Desire to build strong client relationships and provide excellent service
- Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders - clients, and design and construction teams
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university, Master's Degree Preferred
