IPS Employment Specialist - Brown County

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engages clients and establishes trusting, collaborative relationships directed toward the goal of competitive employment in integrated, community job settings
- Meets 1:1 with clients within the community, home, or VPI location to discuss needs and build rapport.
- Assess clients' vocational functioning on an ongoing basis utilizing background information and work experiences
- Conducts job development and job search activities directed toward positions that are individualized to the interests and uniqueness of the clients, following the principles of IPS-supported employment
- Conducts a minimum of six face-to-face employer contacts per week
- Provides individualized follow-along support to assist clients in maintaining employment
- Provides education and support to employers as agreed upon by clients
- Provides outreach services, as necessary, to clients when they appear to disengage from services
- Provides transportation for clients who may need assistance getting to interviews or other related services.
- Participates in weekly meetings with the mental health treatment team and communicates individually with team members between meetings in order to coordinate and integrate vocational services into mental health treatment
- Develop person-centered plans with clients
- Spends 65% or more of scheduled work hours in the community
- Documents activities in case notes meeting Medical Assistance billable standards
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant area of education or human services.
- Experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, experience providing employment services, and knowledge of the work world are preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
