Full-time K-8 School Counselor position.

This position will serve as the K-8 School Counselor and will provide support to our students and work alongside our nurse, social worker, school support specialist, Dean of Students, teachers, support staff, and administration. The majority of the role is focused on group and individual support, but some of the day may also include teaching SEL and related curriculum to students.

QUALIFICATIONS: Individuals who are eligible or possess Elementary Counseling certification are encouraged to apply. Successful teaching experience is preferred but not required.

Applicant must meet State of Delaware certification requirements for School Counseling. Successful candidates must provide evidence of successful PRAXIS II scores or a valid out of state teaching license. An educator applying for a license in the State of DE with less than 1 year of experience will be placed on an Initial License. Applicants with one completed year of experience, but less than 4 years of experience will receive an Initial License.

  • Individuals must provide official transcripts, if applicable, updated resume, and three (3) letters of recommendation.
  • All persons employed by the Academy of Dover Charter School are required to submit a criminal background check and a tuberculosis test.
  • Anyone offered employment is required to provide the following: proper identification (Social Security Card and Driver's License), documentation of eligibility for employment in the U.S.A., completion of I-9 form, and completion of paperwork for the Delaware Child Protection Registry.
