The IR RN collaborates with interventional radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and effective administration of care before, during, and after these procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nPrepare and assess patients for interventional radiology procedures, ensuring they are informed and comfortable with the procedure.\nMonitor and manage patients’ vital signs, sedation, and pain control during interventional procedures.\nAdminister sedation, medications, and intravenous therapies required for imaging-guided procedures.\nCollaborate with interventional radiologists, anesthesiologists, and other members of the healthcare team to provide safe, effective care.\nAssist in the placement, maintenance, and monitoring of specialized equipment such as catheters, needles, and contrast media.\nMonitor patients during post-procedure recovery, assessing for complications such as bleeding, infection, or adverse reactions.\nEducate patients and families about procedures, recovery expectations, and post-procedure care.\nDocument patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.\nParticipate in interdisciplinary rounds and collaborate with the radiology team to ensure continuity of care.\n\n\nQualifications:\n\nEducation: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.\nLicensure:\n\nValid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.\n\n\nCertification:\n\nBasic Life Support (BLS) certification required.\nAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred\n\n\n Wellspring Nurse Source Job ID #30052527.
