Job Title: Welder and Fabricator
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Welder and Fabricator with 3-5+ years of MIG Welding experience. The ideal candidate will have expertise in reading blueprints and fitting/fabrication. This role involves laying out, fitting, and welding fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames and parts. The candidate must be able to identify universal weld symbols, set up and operate welding equipment, and inspect completed welds to ensure they meet specifications.

Responsibilities

• Identify universal weld symbols and various materials
• Set up and operate welding equipment
• Layout, position, align, and fit components together
• Read and interpret work specifications, work orders, blueprints, and schematics
• Visually inspect completed welds to ensure adherence to specifications
• Perform air arc gouging when removing welds or preparing weld joints
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
• Accurately cut, clean, de-burr, and prep parts for welding
• Rigging and Crane/Jib use

Essential Skills

• 3-5+ years of MIG Welding experience
• Proficient in reading blueprints
• Strong fitting and fabrication skills
• Comfortable performing spray arc welding
• Experience in an industrial fab shop working with large scale parts

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand weld symbols
• Experience with metal-cored wire/flux core welding
• Proficiency in using a tape measure

Work Environment

This position is based in a fabrication shop with day shifts running from 7:00am to 3:45pm, Monday to Friday. Overtime is typically at the beginning of the shift. The work environment involves frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and high places, and a usually moderate noise level.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilsonville, Oregon.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00
