Job Title: Database Developer Location: Remote Duration: 12 Months Rates: DOE Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Database Developer to support our data migration, performance tuning, and application enhancement efforts. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in PL/SQL development, database design, and production support. Key Responsibilities: 1. Database Development: Develop and modify PL/SQL packages, procedures, triggers, functions, and indexes to support data migration, new business requirements, and application enhancements. Create and modify database objects such as tables, views, synonyms, materialized views, and stored procedures. 2. Data Migration: Design and implement data migration processes from legacy applications to new applications, including the creation of XML files for data migration. Coordinate with other teams involved in the migration process. 3. Performance Tuning: Fine-tune database objects and SQL queries for optimal performance, using techniques such as query rewriting, index optimization, query hints, and partitioning. Analyze query performance using explain plan tables and optimize SQL queries with subqueries, analytical functions, and inline views. 4. Production Support: Fix production issues, provide user training and support, and improve application performance by rewriting SQL queries and optimizing PL/SQL code. Manage the packaging and release of code changes for applications in different environments. 5. Database Design and Modeling: Create logical and physical data models using normalization techniques. Build and configure database structures, tables, views, constraints, and indexes to collect and normalize business data. Generate SQL and PL/SQL scripts for database object creation and manipulation. 6. Scripting and Automation: Create and modify Unix shell scripts to support project requirements and client needs. Utilize Oracle utilities like SQL*Plus and PL/SQL Developer for database development tasks. Manage Autosys jobs for process automation. 7. Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with business application owners, front-end teams, architects, and other teams involved in upstream/downstream interfaces. Interact with various stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and functionality. Qualifications: Proven experience in PL/SQL development and database management. Strong understanding of database design and modeling principles. Experience with performance tuning and production support. Proficiency in Unix shell scripting and Oracle utilities. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
