We are looking for a driven and experienced Senior Product Owner to join our team. In this role, you will develop system requirements, manage project execution, and oversee the full software development lifecycle (SDLC). The role involves leading the support of policy administration platforms and configurable systems such as CRM, data transport, and document creation services.

This position requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to drive tasks to completion. Experience in the insurance domain, particularly with annuities and policy administration, is highly desirable. The role is based in Durham, NC, and requires being onsite three days a week.

Responsibilities:

Lead other Product Owners in managing the Annuity Policy Administration system.

Become an expert on systems and annuity products, acting as a primary point of contact for end users.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and coordinate integrations with other IT systems.

Provide direct support for policy administration systems, including product builds, claims, and financial data.

Refine, document, and track requirements through development, testing, and deployment.

Prioritize and manage the backlog for competing projects and production issues.

Proactively report on project progress, risks, and blockers.

Conduct detailed analyses of systems to investigate defects and enhancements.

Create process flows for business procedures and identify potential improvements.

Maintain high-quality, accessible documentation.

Collaborate with third-party vendors and offshore teams.

Requirements:

7+ years of experience in IT, applications support, software development, or requirement gathering.

7+ years of experience in the insurance domain, with a preference for annuity and life insurance.

Proven ability to lead Product Owners or Business Analysts in an Agile environment.

Experience with insurance product development and policy administration platforms.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

Proficiency in tools like JIRA for managing SDLC and backlogs.

Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems or equivalent work experience.
