POSITION SUMMARY:
Charged with providing top notch service while delivering legal solutions to all departments and entities within this global company, the AtriCure legal group is busy and dynamic, handling myriad tasks including but not limited to transactional work, corporate governance, litigation and strategic development. The Corporate Counsel position will advise and support internal clients under supervision of department’s senior attorneys. The Corporate Counsel will help manage complex legal matters, lead cross-functional projects, as well as develop policies and procedures, and research emerging legislation and changes in the laws applicable to the company. The ideal candidate must have the ability to interact with a variety of different departments and levels of personnel both within and outside the company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
Drafts, reviews, negotiates and ultimately manages the lifecycle of contracts supporting simple-to-complex business transactions, including but not limited to non-disclosure agreements, distributor agreements, leases, purchase agreements, clinical trial agreements, professional services agreements, grants, vendor and consulting agreements, and others for various departments within the company.
Prepares new templates and manages revisions of current templates for use throughout the company; is responsible for several contracting processes, including establishing processes and cross-functional teams related thereto.
Fosters strong and collaborative relationships with all colleagues, serving as a legal advisor at project meetings.
Stays up-to-date and counsels managers on legal matters or changes in law impacting managers’ areas of responsibility, including how those changes or law may intersect with company policies.
Leads legal department projects and initiatives, and other legal services, under the guidance and supervision of more senior attorneys.
May manage outside counsel assigned to internal projects.
May manage junior attorneys or other staff as part of any of the above.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Juris Doctor from ABA accredited institution.
License to practice law in the State of Ohio or ability to motion in.
6-8 years of experience of increasing responsibility in a law firm or comparable corporate legal department.
Must have experience negotiating complex contracts.
Must have great attention to detail, and problem-solving/trouble-shooting skills.
Must be a great team player who can work independently and communicate effectively.
Must have ability to work under fast-paced conditions while exhibiting good judgment.
Must be able to prioritize and re-prioritize various duties and multi-task as required, while clearly communicating any changes to those impacted.
Must be a confident, goal-oriented, self-motivated team player with a service-focused mindset; must be able to both lead and follow, as each situation may require.
Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
Proficiency with basic contract management systems.
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Independent worker with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
Up to 25% travel possibility.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, clinical research or other related industries.
Government Contracting experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to regularly walk, sit, or stand as needed.
Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
