The Department of Medicine - Division of Hematology and Oncology is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services to the Hematologic Malignancies and BMT patient population in an Outpatient setting located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at Froedtert Hospital, MCW Cancer Center and other outpatient cancer clinics within the community. The MCW Cancer Center (MCWCC) is the only academic cancer research center in our area - a distinct region that includes large, underserved populations, patients who experience significant disparities in cancer incidence and outcomes and unique cancer problems. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching. In this role you will: Collaborates with interdisciplinary health care teams in diagnosis and treatment of conditions requiring Hematology/Oncology/BMT intervention in outpatient environment as a member of the HemOnc/BMT outpatient service. Writes accurate and timely progress notes, procedure notes, and/or admission and transfer orders. Order, perform, and interpret screening and diagnostic procedures and tests, and appropriately communicates and documents information. Privileged to perform procedures beyond core as identified by the Hematology/Oncology/BMT services. Facilitates and communicates with patient, family, and staff to promote continuity of care across the continuum of care. Attend required training and meets key regulatory requirements, including those of the privileging institution, CMS, and the Joint Commission. Evaluates quality outcomes for the patients receiving care of this team through participation in the development of quality indicators and outcomes dashboard. Acquires information on the most current development and trends in the Physician Assistant field and/or Nurse Practitioner field, through educational programs, in-services, professional associates, and current literature.
