Join our vibrant community hospital and clinic as a temporary physician specializing in cardiothoracic surgery. In this role, you will provide essential cardiothoracic services across a range of innovative procedures. Proficiency in surgical techniques for CVOR and vascular surgery is crucial, along with the ability to independently conduct endoscopic procedures and vessel harvesting, including radial harvesting. Schedule: Available Monday to Friday for elective surgeries and invasive procedures. Procedures typically start between 7:00 - 7:30 AM. On-call responsibilities for urgent and emergent OR, cath lab, and bedside interventions. Position Highlights: Act as OR First Assist with a strong background in vessel harvesting. Primarily focus on the main OR, with opportunities to assist in CVOR as needed. Collaborate with a dedicated team for vascular and CVOR procedures. Key Requirements: Hands-on experience in surgeries and procedures such as: CABG (EVH and open vessel harvesting) TAVR TACR Vascular surgery ECMO Core Responsibilities: Pre-operative Care: Assist surgeons with comprehensive patient evaluations. Verify the operating schedule and ensure blood availability. Surgical Procedures: Support in patient positioning and surgical site preparation. Assist the surgeon during operations, including wound exposure and closure. Independently conduct specific procedures (e.g., vascular harvesting, line insertion). Assist with invasive procedures in the Cath Lab and at patient bedside. Post-operative Care: Communicate any changes in patient condition to the surgeon promptly. Monitor patient progress and implement therapeutic measures. Document patient updates in the medical record thoroughly. Conduct rounds as instructed by the surgeon. Administer and communicate medical regimens as per directives. Continuing Education: Engage actively in quality improvement programs. Participate in in-house meetings and conferences.
