Job Description:
The Information Security Systems Engineer will be responsible for the vulnerability scanning, compliance, and documentation. Familiarity with requirements writing, Security Impact Assessments (SIA), and preparation of technical briefing material.
Essential Functions:
Work cross-functionally to ensure security requirements are addressed throughout the mission system development lifecycle.
Perform security compliance scans, vulnerability analysis, and drive identified issues resolution. Harden systems through technical controls and STIG implementation.
Develop and maintain ATO Body of Evidence artifacts.
Experience or proficiency with Linux administration, Bash scripting, Python, Windows PowerShell, Windows administration, Nessus, Wireshark, Nmap, Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana (ELK)).
Understanding of Linux audit and logging system architecture. Good understanding of directory services - Active Directory and LDAP.
Understand computer networking and familiarity with NIST publications.
Experience with classified media handling, marking, and control.
Will use Windows systems and RedHat Enterprise Linux command line and how to secure operating systems.
Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and experience implementing technical controls through automation.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with six (6) years of prior Information Security Systems experience.
Graduate Degree with four (4) years of prior Information Security Systems experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of ten (10) years of prior Information Security Systems experience.
Current Active Secret clearance at the time of hire, ability to obtain and maintian a TS/SCI and CI Poly.
Able to successfully obtain and maintain a CompTIA Security + or higher cert.
Must be a US Citizen.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Certifications - Sec+, CySA, CASP, CISSP.
Active TS/SCI and CI Poly.
