The Enterprise Sponsorships, Experiential Marketing and Internal Events Team is hiring a seasoned Director of Corporate Events to join the team and drive/develop best in class experiences, meetings, conferences and reward and recognition events for executives and colleagues across the company and in multiple geographies. This role will strategize and partner with key executives and leaders throughout the organization, develop events that meet strategic objectives and ensure flawless execution. The ideal candidate is a strong leader, communicator and motivator who can manage multiple projects simultaneously including planning meetings, project management, budget management, and collaboration with partners at all levels and within all line of businesses.

In addition to leading, coaching and developing a team of event planners, the candidate will be responsible for sourcing speakers, vendors and along with their team manage project plans and production of in-person, virtual and hybrid events, and conferences across the bank. These can range from small group events to large multi-day conferences. Corporate events include but are not limited to town hall tours, executive market tours, business line conferences, company-wide communications events, incentive and recognition events.

The ideal candidate has strong relationship building, influencing, and negotiating skills and can effectively work with varying levels of colleagues across the organization, including executives, as well as external vendor partners. This role will require strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills.

Primary responsibilities include.

Craft, design, and implement events to support all areas of our company through development, planning and execution of in-person, virtual and hybrid events.

Collaborate and communicate with Corporate Communications stakeholders to understand their line of business needs and develop event plans to support their content objectives and deliver engaging events for colleagues.

Lead a team of seasoned event planners to create and develop new ideas to for internal events to deliver key messages and goals that resonate with engaged colleagues.

Present to key stakeholders including executives and leaders to clearly articulate event details, planning requirements and deliverables for each event.

Manage multiple events simultaneously, manage project plans, and meet deadlines while being flexible to changing environments.

Work with internal experiential marketing team to leverage best practices

Ensure alignment with marketing and branding on all events.

Source and research vendors, speakers and venues and manage contracts in internal systems for onboarding, risk analysis and payments.

Create a post experience assessment and report key metrics for each experience.

Travel frequently for meetings, events, and conferences to ensure flawless execution.

Skills

Strategic thinker with ability to identify issues and offer creative solutions

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; strong ability to execute and deliver presentations to leadership

Strong ability to multi-task, manage and organize projects at the same time in various stages of planning simultaneously

Experience managing mid to large-size budgets with knowledge of contractual language and negotiating with vendors relating to meetings and events

Self-driven and ability to work both independently and lead a team

Ability to exercise judgment in narrow timeframes

Proven ability to develop, manage and report on event KPIs

Experience with WebEx, Zoom, event registration systems

Event production knowledge such as audio, video, lighting, production

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams)

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

Minimum 10 years related work experience in corporate environment and event planning; Financial Services Industry preferred

Able to lead a high performing team and work closely with senior executives

Work independently and lead a team and complex projects

Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment working with tight deadlines and prioritizing responsibilities while remaining detail oriented

Willingness and ability to work non-traditional hours (evenings and weekends) and travel as required for on-site event management approximately 30% of time will be traveling.

Hours & Work Schedule

Hours per Week: 40 Hours

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8-5

Location: Westwood/Boston, MA or Johnston, RI
