This position requires an experienced
Software Security Engineer
who specializes in
IoT devices
and
AWS Cloud technologies
to join the Venstar Cloud Engineering Team. You will be responsible of the efforts to develop and enhance the connect software for the current and future cloud connected Venstar devices and products. Salary Range: $100,940.00 to $126,690.00+
Responsibilities may include:
Working alongside the Venstar Engineering team
Maintaining and working on different IoT devices
Developing different software products using extensive knowledge and skills with AWS
Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.
Qualifications:
Expert level understanding of perimeter security controls, endpoint controls, and cloud environment controls.
Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
Understanding of standards (SoC2, ISO27001, GDPR, CMMC, etc.)
Extensive knowledge and implementation experience of standards established in the recent past, including NIST and international standards.
Extensive experience designing security controls environment that maps to industry frameworks.
Experience in reviewing, verifying, and validating the software code developed in cloud projects with evidence of adhering to industry standard security principles.
Expert in identifying and deploying cybersecurity measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessment and risk management.
Excellent understanding of cloud application design processes.
Excellent understanding of RESTful APIs and interfacing with API endpoints.
Excellent grasp of fundamental computer science concepts, good at solving complex technical problems, and using common design patterns.
Ability to meet the company’s high standards for code quality, maintainability, and performance.
Requirements:
At least 10 years experience working in cybersecurity related disciplines
Minimum of 5+ years working experience with node.js
Minimum of 5+ years working experience with AWS technologies
Minimum of 5+ years experience building web and AWS services with evidence of adhering to industry standard security principles.
Proficient with AWS databases and storage services
Expert in Javascript concepts (TypeScript is a plus)
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar areas of study from a US credited University
