JOB TITLE:
Academic Outreach Coordinator
JOB PURPOSE:
To serve as the liaison between Fremont School Districts of Wyoming which includes Fremont County School Districts #1, #2, #6, #14, #21, #24, #25, & #38 and UW's School of Teacher Education (STE) in matters related to support of preservice teachers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
General duties include the following: Make classroom and virtual visits to complement UW supervisor visits. Act as "point of contact" and "first responder" for mentor teachers/residency students. Arrange regular/requested meetings/seminars with student teachers. Prepare periodic updates that will share activities and accomplishments with all. Gain knowledge of teacher education programs and district/STE agreements. Demonstrate flexibility with hours to accommodate irregular meeting and activity schedules. Assist in making practicum and student teaching placements. Attend monthly virtual facilitator meetings with the Director of Student Teaching Other duties as assigned
REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:
This position is eligible for remote work and/or a flexible work schedule.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Resident of Fremont County
Minimum of three years of teaching/administrative experience in either Fremont County School Districts #1, #2, #6, #14, #21, #24, #25, & #38. Bachelors Degree in Education
Mentoring experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to drive to visit schools where students and mentors are located within the region
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of/experience with teacher education
Experience as a mentor for student teachers
Knowledge of using Zoom or other web conferencing tools
