business development initiatives targeting AI/ML, Cybersecurity, and Software Development within the Department of Defense (DoD). This role requires an ethical approach to business, strong commercial insight, technical knowledge, and exceptional relationship-building skills. The position reports directly to the Growth Vice President. Primary Responsibilities The Account Manager will oversee all business development activities and strategy for driving growth within the US Navy and Marine Corps sectors. This includes pursuing new opportunities in mission support, security, engineering, and integration of advanced systems with a focus on cybersecurity, cloud solutions, artificial intelligence, and multi-domain operations. A background in mission software, networks, information technology, or digital transformation is crucial. The role involves developing and executing marketing and business development strategies tailored to the Navy and Marine Corps accounts. As a trusted representative for Division Management, you will promote a culture of innovation and excellence in capturing opportunities. You'll manage customer engagement plans and thrive in an environment where you lead the entire business development lifecycle across multiple simultaneous proposals. In addition to building a robust pipeline, you will help shape customer requirements, convert insights into actionable solutions, and craft compelling value propositions. The ideal candidate will have experience as a business development manager or capture manager, specifically supporting DoD customers. The successful candidate will possess the ability to envision winning strategies, develop actionable capture plans, and create differentiated win themes. You will manage marketing investments effectively and work collaboratively with technology teams to align division strategies with technological objectives. Basic Qualifications A BA/BS degree or equivalent experience combined with 15+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 13+ years of experience. A technical degree is required. Outstanding communication skills demonstrated through effective written and oral presentations, including the development of technical documents. Strong business and technical vision. Strategic thinking ability. Proven leadership skills. Analytical presentation and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with government solicitation tools. Experience in identifying and qualifying large business opportunities (>$150M Total Contract Value). Record of success in developing opportunities within the DoD Intelligence Community, including winning single awards exceeding $150M. Demonstrated experience in various business development activities including opportunity qualification, capture strategy, customer engagement, and team leadership. Proficiency in negotiating teaming agreements. Subject matter expertise in C5ISR, Force Protection, Security, and Software Development relevant to customers such as CNIC, NIWC, NAVFAC, SSP, PEO IWS, PEO U&W, NCIS, and MCICOM. Experienced in presenting to senior executives and stakeholders. Able to motivate and engage team members, fostering drive and enthusiasm. Preferred Qualifications 10+ years of experience in leading teams and programs. A minimum of 5 years leading pursuits in the DoD market. Secret clearance with Top Secret/SCI eligibility. 12+ years' experience working with DoD. Prior business development experience in any federal market segment.
