Job Summary
The purpose of this work package is to outsource onsite and offsite support and development needs in the Advanced Design Tools (ADT) team. The work package will involve supporting the global daily use and distribution of all ADT tool suites/tools for ADT design customers including supporting any ADT tool break/fix issues involving disk infrastructure/permissions file copying and management of developer/tool updates to the distribution system with focus items and work tasks as described below
Responsibilities
The purpose of this work package is to outsource onsite and offsite support and development needs in the Advanced Design Tools (ADT) team. The work package will involve supporting the global daily use and distribution of all ADT tool suites/tools for ADT design customers including supporting any ADT tool break/fix issues involving disk infrastructure/permissions file copying and management of developer/tool updates to the distribution system with focus items and work tasks as described below. This will also include any updates required to our tools license software to manage our tool use inside and outside GE. Another task is to work the standards/build/compile/update tools for future development and support in addition to getting a list of aero tools ported over to the Linux environment.
Description:
To meet the above objective, supplier will execute the following tasks
Support user community by fielding issues reported by the designer running the tool.
Working closely with the ADT triage team to work open tickets in a responsive fashion.
Support users in Aerospace spanning multiple countries including US, Italy, France, Poland, India, and Mexico.
Bugfix our GDS libs for porting a list of aero tools to the linux environment.
Support, define and manage our tool build process for improving our support of our tools.
Support and make any necessary updates to our tools licensing package for tool use inside and outside GE.
Answer support questions from users on issues pertaining to the tool.
Work with users to identify issue, research problem, propose solutions, and make corrections to tools and/or distribution environment.
Create and update logs of issues and corrective actions.
Provide timely communications on significant issues.
Prepare and present reports on findings.
Work with internal IT teams to improve performance/reliability of the distribution process.
Requirements:
The supplier performing the work should have experience with the following:
Strong skills in developing, coding and deploying distribution mechanisms.
Experience with CIFS and NTFS permission provisioning
Familiarity with Windows and Linux OS as it pertains to tool/file permission and execution
Strong experience in programming (e.g., Bash, Perl, GIT)
Preferred experience in programming/debugging in C/C++ and/or Fortran
Strong cross-functional (IT/Engineering), teaming, and communication skills.
Location where work needs to be performed is Cincinnati, OH
