CDL Lowboy Driver

Primary Function: The Lowboy Truck Driver is responsible for operating a truck & trailer for transportation of construction material and equipment. In this position, the driver will load construction equipment onto trailers and transport to various construction sites. This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of equipment/trucks. The driver will also be required to work manual labor, perform maintenance on equipment and work with a crew as necessary.

Responsibilities:

Ability to read and understand all permit routes and provisions. Transport oversize, overweight equipment and construction materials safely and timely. Be able to plan routes to meet delivery schedules. Ability to drive through all weather, road and traffic conditions. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations. Must be available to work varied shifts and schedules. Willingness to drive dump trucks. Perform daily pre/post trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT guidelines and company policies. Maintain daily vehicle mileage logs. Monitor various gauges during operation of vehicles Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment. Must keep truck in a clean and orderly condition. Adhere to all company policies and procedures. Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required. Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned. Requirements:

Must possess a valid Class A CDL driver’s license with a clean record. 2+ years of Lowboy driving experience. Ability to pass drug, alcohol & background screening as required by DOT. Language skills to communicate clearly and effectively. Team Attitude Takes pride in their work. Good attendance and on time is a must. Required to perform tasks that include heavy lifting, climbing, balancing, stooping kneeling, crouching, crawling and reaching. Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies.
