Amentum is seeking a highly skilled
Joint Training, Education, and Readiness Specialist
to support Special Operations Command Pacific (SOCPAC) Exercise Planning Division in enhancing training, education, and readiness initiatives. The role requires managing a wide range of responsibilities related to USSOCOM, INDOPACOM, and Service training and education requirements to ensure operational readiness and mission success. Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and manage a comprehensive course agenda to support SOCPAC operational readiness. Utilize expertise in Defense Travel System (DTS) and budgeting for professional development and training courses. Coordinate training events with institutions such as the Joint Special Operations University (JSOU), APCSS, and DoD Regional Centers. Provide expert advice to the SOJ72 Division Chief on joint training, readiness, and exercise events, including off-site planning sessions. Design, evaluate, and track training programs, tools, and communication materials, including support for bilateral and multilateral exercises. Formulate yearly training plans, coordinate speakers, and issue instructions to subordinate units for training activities. Review training evaluations to identify trends and recommend improvements. Assist with reporting requirements, including SOCOM’s biennial Health of Special Operations Forces (SOF) report and other TMT tasks. Oversee the SOF Language, Regional Expertise, and Culture (LREC) program and act as the Command Language Program Manager/Coordinator (CLPM). Prepare annual training budgets and liaise with local, state, and federal training sites. Coordinate readiness and deployment processes, including Preparation for Overseas Movement (POM) events, to ensure mission readiness. Maintain systems of record for training requirements and readiness reporting to leadership and stakeholders. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or five (5) years of relevant experience in Joint Training and Exercises in lieu of degree. At least five (5) years of experience performing and executing formal and informal readiness, training, and education courses (i.e. newly assigned indoctrination, Common Military Training (CMT) events, etc.). Ability to coordinate and facilitate deployment readiness joint training and education events (i.e. readiness tracking and reporting, and POM Events). Ability to gain access to multiple government agency portal systems to create, manage, and run reports (i.e. SharePoint, Excel, Power BI, SOF/Defense Ready). Ability to travel as required. Required certification through USSOCOM SOF Language Office (one-week Basic CLPM course). Must have an active Top-Secret security clearance and be SCI, SAP/STO eligible. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree and 10 years of experience performing and executing formal and informal readiness, training, and education courses. Joint Exercise Planning Experience with the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC). Thorough understanding of Special Operations Forces (SOF). The salary range for this position is $130K to $155K. (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
