Opportunities can vary from working in Tax, Corporate Accounting, Payroll, Investor Relations, or more. A Day In The Life Finance/Accounting Interns will typically support one or more experienced Finance/Accounting teams in performance of assignments, spend time shadowing actual operations, and have unique assignments that support larger projects as well as the day-to-day operations of the Finance and/or Accounting department. Interns may perform and/or participate in additional activities/events which will help them build a strong network within the Hubbell community. Roles and Responsibilities will vary by Hubbell business location, but may include the following: * Review current program activities to make recommendations for changes/improvement opportunities * Apply your knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles and Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls in a large corporate environment. * Work alongside our staff accountants and accounting supervisors to learn how the accounting principles are applied in our day-to-day activities as well as our monthly financial close responsibilities, perform account analysis, prepare journal entries, and reconcile accounts. * Perform other duties as assigned * Detailed roles and responsibilities will be outlined dependent on business Group, location and the project outlined Expectations: The intern will be expected to work full-time at 40 hours/week and will be compensated on an hourly basis.
