We are looking for a Buyer to join a well-established manufacturing company! The Buyer Assistant supports procurement activities by assisting in sourcing, negotiation, and order processing. This role requires strong organizational skills and effective communication to maintain vendor relationships and ensure efficient purchasing operations. Key Responsibilities: Sourcing and Supplier Management: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers. Assist in negotiating terms and pricing agreements. Purchase Order Processing: Generate and manage purchase orders. Monitor order status and resolve discrepancies. Inventory Management: Maintain optimal inventory levels. Conduct regular audits to prevent shortages or excess stock. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of transactions. Prepare reports on purchasing activities and cost savings. Communication and Coordination: Liaise with internal departments for seamless collaboration. Communicate effectively with suppliers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS May assist buyers in contacting vendors to obtain prices and schedule delivery dates. May develop and maintain resources for assigned commodity items. Prepares standard requests for quotation. Assignments may require initiative regarding pricing revisions, order cancellations, discontinued items, acceptable substitutes, delivery date revisions and invoice discrepancies. Review purchase requisitions of simple to moderate complexity for accuracy and determine priorities. Run MRP and analyze, verify, recommend purchase and place purchase orders to vendors and suppliers. Handle work Orders, and replacement and/or repair order management. Add new and/or update vendor information, manage vendor payment or billing with A/P, Purchase Order maintenance (open PO Report), check PPV (Purchase Price Variance) and report to Accounting. Work with Logistics and Receiving to ensure correct receipt of parts and timely delivery. Experience/Education Zero (0) - Two (2) years work related experience, preferably in a high-tech manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of general policies and procedures. Strong Customer Relations skills. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or equivalent experience.
